Rev. Ragsdale Goes to Congress: Time to Expose Counterfeit 'Christianity' Comments

Rev. Dr. Katherine Hancock Ragsdale is the "go to" witness these days for the radical abortion on demand lobby. She not only makes for good optics when she wears that clerical collar, she feigns outrage that anyone would attempt to stop any abortion for any reason. After all, she has now openly identified her position that abortion is a "blessing". She has the audacity to defend this position as consistent with the Christian faith she claims to ... Does anyone know why Barney Franks would be chairing this sub-committee when the GOP has control over the house? You know it's one thing for some uninformed activists to beat the abortion drum, a whole other thing from a trained religious person. This is a moment when you have to thank Christ for our Chruch's teaching authority and tradition. And this displays perfectly what can happen when you are able to make you own determinations about what scripture says. I will pray for her conversion as she has no idea the scandal she causes.

Brian Cook states that the liberal websites he has seen do not describe abortion as a blessing (as did Ms. Ragsdale-like another commentor I can not call her Rev.) Do those websites you refer to call abortion a "right" or "necessary"? The liberal sites I've seen have not condemned abortion; some state abortion should be "rare". Well if abortion is a good thing, why should it be rare? On the other hand, if abortion is a bad things, why should it be tolerated at all? What these sites fail to recognize is that the fetus is NOT part of the woman's body, otherwise it would have the woman's DNA. No, the woman's body is a temporay host to a living person with its own unique DNA. Know that the Obama administration has a vested interested in abortion and the votes it brings. Remeber also that Obama himself said that should either of his daughters become pregnant before they were ready, he would not want them "punished" with a baby. Doesn't that say much about this man?

Everyone should know, painful that it is to admit, many "mainline" Christian denominations are not pro-life. The Episcopal Church is but one of these. For example, the United Church of Christ (UCC) has been pro-abortion for years and actually opposed the ban on partial birth abortions using ridiculous technicalities for supporting such a barbaric act. Read about it hear: Presbyterians, Lutherans, etc are also pro-choice. The Catholic Church's doctrine is protected by the Holy Spirit and cannot be changed by man. If it weren't, we would be in the same boat as these misguided people.

It is with shame that I must recognize this so-called Rev Ragdale to be an Episcopalian. She has resorted to supporting whatever is convenient rather than what is right. Her's is the counterfeit Christianity. I seem to recall that Tertullian noted that the Church does not practice abortion or infanticide (though I can't recall offhand where that was stated). She cannot appeal to the early Church for her position since the church was totally against it.

Dear Amanda, don't be afraid to have a family. You sound like a young woman with a true heart of love and genuine concern for the defenseless among us. I was touched by your honesty and sense of concern for doing the right thing, and I encourage you to be strong in what you believe; do not let feelings of depression overcome you, but perhaps see your doctor to rule out hidden causes. Make sure it's a doctor who does not promote abortion and other evils!

God bless you and give you peace of mind.

OK but lets pray that the Holy Spirit will bring her to conversion. Amanda above says she is pregnant lets pray that she has a beautiful birth and that God blesses her family.

This kind of thing is a big part of what pushed me away from the Episcopal Church. At the coming Easter Vigil I will receive confirmation into the Catholic Church. The Episcopal Church is deeply divided, and we see this with whole Anglican churches and their priests being welcomed into the Catholic Church. Personally, I think the denomination will die as those who hold to the teachings of Christ come home to the Catholic Church, and the rest go be Unitarian Universalists.
