Women Star in the President's Political Theater: Who's Really Getting Played? Comments

With a pen stroke and a press conference, President Obama used women to initiate a war on Religious freedom and with the media lapdogs panting at his heels, he made sure the Republicans, and especially the Catholic Church, were painted as misogynist zealots.  Now he's leading this contrived and fraudulent battle over "women's health", and the so-called feminists have pinned women's entire well-being to a package of pills and reduced women ... not only is all the information she provided was wrong but also is it pointless. if the students cant afford the pills then they can go to planned parenthood and get it for free. they also hand out condoms, so no excuse

Regardless of how long the media stays on this, the real story in my opinion is the percentage of Catholic women who contracept. Why aren't we talking about that? From a pastoral perspective, why isn't that being discussed more? As for this issue continue to dominate the news, well that is what the party get's for letting Rush be a leader in the party.

Whose being played? We the people are being played. Ms. Fluke is a radical leftist stunt woman who was putting on a charade, another con game from the Marxist Democrat Party. The Marxist Media Complex is doing their dirt by propagandizing Ms. Fluke day in and day out. All this is designed to do is distract the attention away from Obama who is attacking the Catholic Church and at the same time paint the GOP as Big Bad Boys Against Women. Sadly, the Marxist con game has worked in the past. The Marxist promise "Free Stuff" like Free Abortions and Free Contraceptives. If anyone objects, they are painted as "Sexists, Bigots, Racists by the Marxist Media Complex. The reason it works because they appeal to the lower base of humanity- jealousy, envy, sloth, lust. Satan uses the same old tricks over and over again. They never seem to wear out.

I take one major issue with your alignment with the military and your usage of the Tricare system as a comparison to what is going on in Washington. Our Tricare system already covers ALL medications for prime members with out any co pays (unless you are using a non-military pharmacy then it is $3.00/ 30 day prescription).
For all of those on here who do not understand what I'm getting at... Birth Control measures that require a prescription from doctor are covered completely under Tricare. Therefore, if the author of this piece, or her children, required such medications (which are not always used as a contraception) as dependents in the military, they would get these medications provided by the US government for free.
With that all being said, I applaud her staunch convictions as a Catholic. Even though, in my own opinion, I do wish we would stop being so politically motivated with our church.

Rose, okay. How is that any different from what the Westboro Baptist Church calls gays?

Great article! I have to just shake my head at the idea that there are basically two options - use contraception OR have children one does not want/can't afford. My husband and I have been married for 8 years and have never used contraception. We have three children, the youngest of whom was adopted. Granted, we married a little later in life, but conceived our first child less than a month after our wedding (and were totally thrilled about it). We learned NFP after he was born, as I experienced a difficult birth and some postpartum health issues. Yes, it requires some effort - but so worth it in the end to have learned so much about my body and not experience unpleasant (and sometimes scary) side effects. Can I tell you how many people I know who are living the contraceptive mentality and have experienced a "surprise" pregnancy? Can I tell you how many women I've known over the years who have suffered terribly as a result of side effects or complications from their contraceptives? One woman I know had an IUD inserted just six weeks after a c-section. She subsequently complained of severe bleeding and pain, only to be told by her (female) doctor that this was "normal". Come to find out, the IUD had slipped through her uterine scar and into her abdomen. She had to have emergency surgery to locate and remove the IUD. Her doctor's response? "Well, this happens sometimes so soon after a c-section." The "cut 'em or drug 'em" mentality of modern obstetrics is shockingly anti-woman. And the so-called modern feminists, in their endless quest to remake women in the image of men, have embraced it wholeheartedly. How sad that the Church's beautiful teachings on the dignity of womanhood and the sanctity of life are what is seen as misogynistic and "outdated". Particularly sad when these opinions are expressed by so-called Catholics. The Church DOES help families in need, but also teaches that the vocation of parenthood is one of stewardship - family planning is embraced by the Church, not contraception. They are NOT one in the same. But you can't apply Church teaching "piecemeal" - it only makes sense when taken (and lived) as a whole.

Jennifer, your analysis is remarkable: clear, honest, courageous. Your bluntness of speech is powerful. Women are more than just a body, and they definitely deserve better than to be treated as objects or to delude themselves into thinking that they are not being treated as such.

If one does not believe that this is plain Sorcery, neither will one understand the term "By Sorcery" in revelations to its truth even as it moves by, true to the words of God of the manner " My people fall due lack of knowledge". So it is about time that the actions of Obama & gang be looked in through Biblical terms, instead of through 'secular ways', even words, to a True Catholic.
