A Rising Catholic Tide of Resistance May Determine the U.S. Presidential Election Comments

Catholics in the United States are rising up in a Tide of Resistance to the unjust actions and edicts of the Obama Administration. They might determine the outcome of the 2012 Presidential election in the United States. That is if they act in a manner which, in the words of the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, is "morally coherent." This President and his administration espouse a rapidly expanding Secularist State which ... Tech, agreed. I will once again hold my nose as I vote knowing darn well the best I can get is the status quo. Maybe reveral of the Mexico City policy and just maybe a reversal of this latest stance by the administration. But I wonder how many people sat in the pews this past weekend, listened to the letter and basically shrugged their shoulders and said so what?

The US has a two party political system. One party is owned by Planned Parenthood. The other is not. I will vote in the presidential primary for the "other" party's pro-life candidate I think is best for my country. If the "other" party nominates a pro-life candidate in the primary, I will vote for him or her. It is really not complicated, but some of you are really trying to complicate this election for some reason. It might have to do with who you voted for in the last election.

The consequences of the passage of Obamacare to the Catholic Church and those who practice the fath was perfectly predictable. The US Conference of Bishops made this clear in communication after communication. Now we that we have been slam dunked by the President, we need to step back and ask how did this happen. I recall Sister Carol Keehan all smiles appearing with the President in a signing ceremony assuring all that there were no $ in the bill for abortion and that we of faith had nothing at all to fear from this bill. After the smoke cleared, Bishop George of Chicago summed it up best by stating that Sr Keehan chose Obamacare over the Catholic Church. Those of us who were educated by nuns feel especially betrayed Sr Keehan's deception. Nonetheless, she remains the darling of the Catholic left. In contrast, I recall Mother Teresa sharing the stage with Ms Hilary Clinton and decrying the crime of abortion and telling the abortionists to refrain from murdering children and give them to her. Choosing life over death - this is the Catholic culture! Lets not be deceived by those of our faith in public life and those who post on this site who knowingly choose death over life and attempt to lead us down that dark trail.

Today, in the Diocese of La Crosse, WI, we had a letter from our Bishop read aloud during the homily. It was an excellent letter informing us of the Obama administrations recent attack against the Catholic Church by forcing Catholic institutions to provide their employees with "services" that are intrinsically evil. Our dear Bishop said that we cannot and will not comply. He called us to pray, fast, and write to our congressmen. As for me, I believe that we are long past the point where it's possible for Catholics to support democrats who belong to a party that is slavishly devoted to abortion and sodomy. I wonder how many others will finally get the picture now that our Church has been literally attacked by our government. It's time to wake up and choose between God and Caesar, because Caesar is demanding that which belongs to God.

As a "former Catholic" that has lately returned to the ranks, I am surprised that "the voters" are suddenly surprised by the results of the person that they voted into office. The Catholic voters have, according to statistics, voted in the likes of the Kennedey Clan, Pelosi, Biden, and now Obama. In the old days, it was a mortal sin to support or vote for anyone who was for or openly supported abortion. I know. I know. It's now called "pro-choice", and the followers/supporters are "enlightened" and advocates of "social justice".
The U.S Catholic Bishops also bought, literally into the morass of "social justice' by donating monies to such groups as Planned Parenthood, whose stated goal is ABORTION.
None should be surprised by what we got. We asked for it. We voted for it. Now we have it and the Obamacare is just the beginning of the draconian program.

Amen. Great article. Our priest led us in reciting the prayer to Saint Michael The Archangel after Mass this morning. He did so after reading a letter addressed to all parishioners throughout the diocese from our Bishop. In the letter our Bishop urged all catholics to pray and fast so that the administration's HHS ruling will be defeated. I have seen similar letters addressed to catholics in other dioceses throughout the country. So your article is on target. This is a wake up call to all that we must be politically involved in the election of honest and truthful political leaders. We owe it to God, our families and each other.

One thing I have not worried about in three years is further damage in foreign affairs. Obama is smart and is not a sabre rattler. I am not terribly concerned that Romney will light any fires. It is the loose cannon tea party that is to be feared.
