Kmiec Comes Home: Ambassador Resigns Position in the Obama Administration Comments
To this day, I am flabbergasted by Doug's position during the last presidential campaign and his decision to support Barack Obama. However, I still consider Doug to be a friend. Friends can make wrong decisions. If we care about them at all, we pray for their conversion. If being deceived by a Presidential candidate is Doug's major fault, we have all made the same mistake. Welcome home Doug, give me a call. Continue Reading

Deacon Fournier recites, once again, the often trotted out teachings of the scripture, that all life is precious from the moment of conception, but he ignores the views and track record of President Obama's Republican opponent in the 2008 election. Yes, on the sole issue of abortion, President Obama would appear to be less in line with the Catholic teachings than Senator John McCain, but only so far as the value of every life ends at delivery.
The GOP, through their budget cuts to nutrition programs for Women and Infant Children, or their defunding of such programs as Head Start, or their insistence on giving massive tax cuts to the millionaires and billionaires of this country have shown their utter contempt for the lives of millions of our fellow citizens, many of them babies and very young children.
It is time for people like Deacon Fournier to start practicing what they preach and show your concern for all human lives...including those that have already been born and not just the unborn. To pretend that voting for Obama was such a violation of Church doctrine ignores the many pages of the New Testament that focused on helping the poor, which I believe Jesus talked about a bit more than stopping Planned Parenthood.
