Catholics Killed at Mass in Iraq: Extremist Muslims invade Church, Murder Priests Comments
One report concerning the state of the Church after the security forces stormed in to attempt to rescue the Christians is particularly horrifying. It came from a police officer, "It's a horrible scene. More than 50 people were killed. The suicide vests were filled with ball bearings to kill as many people as possible. You can see human flesh everywhere. Flesh was stuck to the top roof of the hall. Many people went to the hospitals without legs ... Continue Reading

In the title of this article can be found the reason these kinds of acts occur. They do because WE attribute them to "extremists." No, it wasn't Islam itself. Perish that thought. Not PC. It was "extremists." Uh, huh. Well, these "extremists" went into Our Lady of Salvation in Bagdad because they knew, or confidently sensed, that the Muslim world was behind them, would support them. Or don't we recall the dancing in the streets of the Muslim world celebrating the 9/11 attacks! Until such time as the community of nations puts "extreme" pressure on Islam to repudiate "jihad," that their religious clerics preach something radically different -- like getting along peacefully with the rest of the world -- then we MUST continue to expect that young Muslim men between the ages of 19 to 40 will continue to attack the Western world. Brutally.
Kinder and gentle , you don't see too many catholic blowing themselves up to get a point across, makes you think . Japan bombed us and we fought back, they sent suicide bombers, they intended to destroy America. We did something then we need to do something now. We played nice and we lost thousand at Pearl Harbor, and in the South Pacific. Japan wanted expand their empire. What other nations are expanding their empire using suicide bombers , going to Religious places (Iraq) markets Jewish schools (Mumbai),trains station in Spain., coming to a school your kids go to bombing like in Russia. Wake up just because it did not happen yet in Iowa or Georgia doesn't mean that it is not happening, there is an undertow that will rise to the surface and swallow us if we are not staying on the watch. The media feed them and there needs like a parasite, except this parasite will extinguished the media and free speech after they have exploited for all its worth . Then what free assembly then non conformist will be jailed or shipped off. Wake up people, my kid was told that the holocaust was a not true and that someone might be offended if it is presented in history, therefor can’t be discussed. I personally rather offend then to be blown up at my kids soccer match, or getting food at the market.
God help our people! We have been praying for them with all of our hearts. May their suffering be united with Jesus' suffering. My heart hurts for them.:(
These Catholics are Martyrs....They are in Heaven for ever and ever. I am the Alpha and the Omega..... .
I think most people who posted their comments missed the source of the problem. As an immigrant, a catholic, and an ex. merchant mariner, I have been to these countries and would go out on a limb to claim to know more than most others. Iraq under Sadam Hussein should have been left alone. Under this man, christians were protected and enjoyed a comparatively affluent society. Most importantly, Islamic extremism was non-existant. Tariq-Aziz, one time Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister when the country was invaded by US troops, is a Catholic who is now facing the death penalty, and not a word of protest from Catholic hierarchy in this country. The USA, with its misguided ideology of creating democracies, and nation building actually overthrew a secular regime and replaced it with an Islamic State. Three quarters of Iraqi Christians have fled that country, the rest will either flee or be exterminated, and all because the great USA decided to play GOD!!
martyrs in the heavenly mariapolis, praying for us.
let us keep out feet on the ground and trust in His ways.
all my unity to the christians being persecuted in muslim countries.
this is devastating, what is the world turning to. we Christians have to pray harder to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and increase the kingdom of heaven, this is a pure ignorance. may all there souls rest in perfect peace. Amen
There is a time to pray, and a time to act, the Catholic Dioce needs to comission a security team for our churches abroad, I would certainly volunteer to provide that security, if our religion is to truly help those in needs then we have to afford a way to keep them safe abroad. There needs to be an action to make Catholics a nation even if in our new ideology, to show our will cannot be broken or bent, men and women and children around the world are counting on our support, this is a cry for a new order a stronger position, and a need to grasp the old foundations of the Catholic faith. We always pray but we must be men of this world as well, our Pope is constantly asked to offer advice to the world on actions and on our interpritation and the only interpritation, so we too must be ready to change with the world in few ways, like being apart of our own security, lending a security action for those in war torn areas who need our support, and by takeing a stand against what we don't like about Protestantism, Islam, and Judaism, and the Heathern ways of other states.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the terrorists of this world, who spread their ideology of hate, death, and destruction, hurting and taking innocent lives. May God rebuke them we humbly pray, and do thou O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all his evil spirits who wander throughout the world, seeking the ruin of lives and souls. Amen
Faith, hope and charity are the virtues that we must practice. Our religion is rooted in love and understanding. We must not despair. St. Paul and the Apostles all went through times of hardship, including their own deaths. We must learn to follow their example. The church has always been persecuted, criticized and isolated. We are still here, and we will be here forever, our mystical body, our mother. Long after we are all gone the Word will still be here. We shall continue to reveal the gospel to the world. On this All Saints day, a new list of martyrs is added to the endless book of salvation. We must belive that the victims of this barbaric act are now in the presence of all Our Saints and the Holy Trinity. Our prayers go to all the families affected by this act of terrorism.
