Archbishop Vigneron Exposes 'American Catholic Council', Warns Faithful Comments

'The American Catholic Council movement and its national gathering are not conducted under the auspices of the Detroit archdiocese, the universal Roman Catholic Church, or any entity or organization affiliated with the archdiocese or the universal Roman Catholic Church. Priests, deacons, and ecclesial lay ministers will want to avoid lending support to such a misguided effort. On behalf of the archdiocese, Archbishop Vigneron has asked the ... Continue Reading

It is good if we know what are the basic differences between the teaching of ur authenti Church and these rebels' council. First of all, no lay organisation can deal with the teaching of Jesus and the Church to fight against the Church.. There is no Catholic Church without its Shepherds, the POPE and the BISHOPS. Better to spread this awareness among the ordinary parishioners.

I'm surprised at the term 'universal" Catholic. Parasitic 5th pillars are bound to exist but, it's good to expose those that are.

Vance, why don't you go to the source that the Deacon provided. Then you will see for yourself firsthand.

Would you be able to post a list pointing out the groups of the Psudo- Catholics. They are workin overtime to divide and conquer with their evil promotions.

I'm so glad you wrote this article! So many organizations and affiliations to keep track of all the time! The Catholic Church appears to have an identity crisis when one segment of the church advocates for "tradition" and another advocates for "liberal translations". This particular group does make their argument for Constitutional Catholicism utilizing quotes and snippets from respected sources, Vatican Council II, and Codes of Canon Law. Upon further research into the organization, I was very confused to find it so closely aligned with groups like the progressive Catholics Speak Out or the social justice advocates FOSIL or the gay/lesbian alliance of New Ways Ministry or the feminists of Women Church. Then again, I'm pretty confused by the actions of social justice ministries in our diocese which advocate similar issues. I will pray for clarity.

Vance, I think they want to change or americanize the church's hierarchy. they speak of wanting the church to have one constitution and it seems like they want the lay faithful to have more power or equal power to the clergy. It just seems that they want to radicalize Vatican 2 and reform the structure of the church and make it more like american norms and structures. hope that helps. check the site, the link is on the second page with the url as the name. God Bless and good article Deacon Fournier.

Deacon Fournier, you need to be more specific about the nature of dessent and heresy this group is spreading. I understand that there are groups of folks out there who claim to be Catholic with catchy names. But they promote abortion, fetal stem cell research, and homosexual marriage all in the name of Social Justice.. What are these people promoting?
