U.S. Political Season Begins: 'Morally Coherent' Catholics Can Change this Nation Comments
Catholics are not one more "interest group" which can be polled, pandered to and bought. Our social obligation is to promote the true common good, not just use the slogan to sound "catholic" as happened in the last political cycle. We need to promote the truth as taught by the Church no matter what it is labeled in the political parlance of the hour. Our political participation must be committed to human life and dignity, marriage and the ... Continue Reading

Why do we allow post like this on this Catholic website?
"On the predominant human rights issue of our age the leadership of the Democratic Party has lost its soul. One simply cannot be a faithful Catholic and hold what is euphemistically called a "pro-choice" position on abortion."
I think it is the insert you are referencing, but didnt it just say that Our insistence upon recognition in the positive law of the fundamental Human Right to Life is not about one political issue;? Its not? With one breath it says this isnt about abortion, but with the other it makes it about abortion. All I hear from fellow Catholics is the issue of abortion. That isnt the only topic that could be considered pro-life. We dont want babies to die, but yet our neighbors may die because they cant afford healthcare? We act as if there arent other social injustices going on as we speak with the rich and the poor; why did food, shelter, and health get shoved under the rug?
Great article. This article hits the nail on the head. There is a current tragedy in church called Liberal Establishment clergy. If we had a USCCB dominated Fr John Corapis or Fulton J Sheens, the church would be in a position to make positive changes or life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Rather, the church is dominated by liberals who could care less about Pro-Life, sanctity of marriage, stem cell research, and euthanasia. Our local Pastor used his homily time to talk about welcoming illegal aliens into the country. In the past six years Ive circulated among four different parishes and all NEVER mentioned a thing about moral issues. I believe this is the churches bigger scandal than priest molestation. The molestations are very grievous but the deliberate lack of moral leadership is inexcusable.
