Obama Moves away from 'Freedom of Religion' toward 'Freedom of Worship'? Comments

Since the initially strong language on religious freedom used in President Obama's Cairo speech, presidential references to religious freedom have become rare, often replaced, at most, with references to freedom of worship. A purposeful change in language could mean a much narrower view of the right to religious freedom. Does this change of language indicate a change of policy? As Catholics, this is an area where we must remain vigilant. ... Continue Reading

This President and Administration are hell bent on instituting an EXTREME form of Socialism worse than Venezuela or Russia. They do not strike me as odd anymore. What strikes me as odd is both the Republicans and Democrats standing by letting this man do this. And you call yourselves Americans ?? REAL Americans would FIGHT for their freedoms. RISE UP AND IMPEACH THIS PRESIDENT NOW !!! NOT IN "NOVEMBER".... NOW !!!!

The author states that "religious Jews keep kosher, religious Quakers don't go to war, and religious Muslim women wear headscarves-yet "freedom of worship" would protect none of these acts of faith." This is where we as observant Christians are failing to reflect true Christian worship. True Christian worship is directed toward our Lord and Savior not how we congregate or corporately fellowship. When we allow worship to become nothing more than corporate forms and not everything we do in life then we have already failed.

Catholic church - Please wake up! See what your support for Obama has brought. Have you sold your soul to gain favor with this administration in the name of "Social Justice" only to find that we are paying for innocents to be aborted and that the socialist agenda of Obama is spreading? Has everyone been fooled by this Trojan Horse? I am sad for America and Americans of religious faith and pray that we can prevent further weakening of our society and the true standards of American Exceptionalism.

Bad things happen when good people do nothing. Any christian voting for a poltician that supports abortion, same sex marriage, ect, is cutting thier own throat.
The USA was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs and we have told, by our founders, it will not survive without it. That simple.

***Obama, seeking to repair relations fractured by 9/11, is telling Islamic countries that America is not interfering with their internal matters."

And who fractured those relations on 9/11? And just how is it America's responsibility to repair those fractures? With Obama as Apologist-In-Chief, we awake a little more diminished every day. Up is down, top is bottom, liberty is slavery...

So why did a majority of Catholics vote for Obama? Its seems odd to me that so many people who call themselves Catholic live lives totally contrary to the Churchs teaching. I think its well past time for the Church to thin out its membership rolls; dump those who practice every morality and lifestyle other than Catholic. Purify the Church!

For those who haven't been keeping up, some of the concrete ramifications of this distinction include prior restraint of free speech in public, to wit: an English minister was arrested for saying publicly that homosexuality is a sin.

In California, the ACLU has succeeded in establishing prior restraint of free speech in regards to homosexuality in the public schools. If a tenured teacher criticizes or is negative about the homosexual lifestyle, they may be fired. By the way, this is the only "speech crime" they may be fired for. They can criticize Christians, Muslims, Jews, straight couples, etc. The gay lobby has succeeded in establishing a long list of "extra rights." There is a direct connection between those who would remake society and the marginalization of freedom of religion.

This should not be surprising to anyone. Obama has no respect for our Constitution or Bill of Rights, let alone our Christian faith and is now allowing taxpayer monies to fund abortions. Christians have every reason to be extremely cautious of a person who is so secretive of his nationality and faith, is critical of our allies, yet so comfortable with our enemies.
