I was also so upset by the Network/LCWR letter! I am extremely relieved to see the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious correcting those false claims. Thank you so much!
a house divided. satan is laughing. the bill will pass is my guess. darkness covers the land.
The proposed legislation - which may be pushed through without a real vote - MUST be opposed because it will expand abortions and provides federal dollars to do so.
I was happy to see the statements of these sisters. I too am a sister and was appalled that newspapers led everyone to believe that Network and LCWR actually represented every sister in the U.S. No one asked me about it. Network and LCWR believe that "life" will be protected when even the congress people haven't read the bill. At any rate, they don't represent me or thousands of other sisters who weren't even asked their opinion.
Thank you.
This is great news; however, it is not on Fox News or CNN that I have seen. I have been so upset that the previous letter represented nuns in the US and their open defiance of the church. What can be done about this? Can the bishops take action? Does any of my catholic charity money goes to these folks?
"...groups like Network and the Catholic Health Association have done a grave disservice to the American Catholic community by undermining the leadership of the nation's Catholic bishops, sowing confusion among faithful Catholics and misleading legislators through their support of the Senate bill." - Archbishop Charles J. Chaput and Auxiliary Bishop James D. Conley of Denver
I am really tired of these dissenting Catholics. The Catholic Bishops have made their stance very clear. Respect their authority and stop watering down our Catholic faith!
These sisters are setting a great example of service, faithfulness, and charity for all Catholics and Americans.
The media would have us believe that the sisters and lay Catholics are all up in arms against our Bishops' stand against abortion and for Subsidiarity. ObamaCare is blatantly pro-abortion and anti-Subsidiarity.
God Bless you, Sister Sheridan, and all who with you remain faithful the the Church!
Look at how joyful these women are in these pictures! Pictures are worth a thousand words. Serenity and peace come from prayer - and their peace is the peace from above. Thank God for these wonderful monastics - they are reflected the joy of heaven in their countenance.
