nice post. thanks.
There are Scientologists who stay on staff 35 years but not many. I was on staff once. Since then at least two presidents of the local church have left, maybe more, I don't keep close track. No one currently on staff predates me. Everyone that was on the staff of about 120 has since left. Most are quiet. Their lives were almost destroyed by Scientology. Some were destroyed. They don't want the rest of their lives spent fight it.
Jeff Hawkins is happy to tell you what kept him in a cult for so long, and why he got out:

"they try to destroy the group that saved them"
No, they are talking about what they experienced while in the cult, which is corroborated by hundreds of other former cultists.
The cult claims millions of members, and massive expansion, and yet no evidence or data to back it up.
Well that makes sense, John Davis, since you're a Scientologist. Scientology is absolutely perfect in your mind and people who are against it are evil criminals or stupid.
I've been a student at the Beverly Hills Playhouse for 8 years. I can tell you that the majority of the Scns left. The BHP does not promote Scn in the least. They may have in the past but not since I've been there. It is a great acting school and people of all religions are free to study there. And yes, I left Scn as a result of seeing how those past students treated Milton. These were OTs who were terrible to him and continue to bad mouth him. So, hope that clears up your misconception of the Beverly Hills Playhouse.
Something just doesn't make sense here. If it was so bad, why did they stay so long? Jefferson Hawkins stayed on staff for 35 years, for example. There were no walls keeping them in, they didn't wear shackles on their legs.
Someone is trying to sell a bill of goods.
I simply don't believe this.
Isn't it amazing that the more Scientology expands and opens new churches, the more these "critics" deride the same organization that took them from simpering nerdism, and helped them develop new abilities to actually communicate with people?
Now, how do they use their new communication skills? They try to destroy the group that saved them from their previous ant-hill anonymity.
Good luck with that whole Karma thing. Better hope it's all just a myth.
For 50 years, ex-members have been coming out with similar stories of abuse and fraud. Scientology has no defense, all they ever say is that any ex-member criticizing them is a liar and a criminal.
In that case, Scientology sure has a way of attracting liars and criminals to its cause.

Excellent article, you can view the entire video presentation at http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/4716775#. Spread the word!
Lets just pray it just fades out.
Let us pray for the people who are in Scientology that they get out and move on with their lives for the better.
