Opinion: Chris Matthews should be fired for his Offensive Interview of Bishop Tobin Comments

Matthews showed how inept he is as an interviewer, how misinformed he is as a Catholic, how rude he is as a person and how threatened he is by the Moral truth. Continue Reading

Bishop Tobin is a man who is standing strong in his beliefs to defend those who cannot. This is a man who has given up his life to shepard others. I admire his conviction and have little admiration for those who profit from tearing down this brave man.

    Matthews,
Kennedy came after Tobin publicly, so you come after Tobin. Tobin is a gentleman - you are not.
Why don't you take on the memory of mother Teresa? Go on and make a buck you great fraud your actions are despicable.

“the fact that I disagree with the hierarchy on some issues does not make me any less of a Catholic.”

Hey hardball, why don't you go after a local muzlim cleric, for their stance against abortion -guess you're not that tough.

    Dear John,

"Can't take the heat? Don't play with fire."

Good point - maybe you shouldn't play with God and take the Holy Heat of Holy Communion if you are willing to stand idly by, say and do nothing while 3500 of the least of these our brothers and sisters are ripped limb from limb by the self righteous lawyers and pharisees of the American political left.

Eating and drinking condemnation to oneself is a horrible thing. In 1435 onward, slave owners (like the Democrats in the South) were playing with excommunication from the Holy Catholic Church.

Now the modern Democrat is playing with fire. The Sodomites also wanted to play with fire, play with the Angels and expose themselves to God.

All in good time - man reaps what he sows, and when he sows blood guiltiness, he reaps it - and the cost is more than he can bear.

Note to the post by Mr. John Zudiak: why do you find it acceptable to insult Roman Catholics publicly, it is our right to call our Bishops "excellencies" as much as it it for a Jew to call a teacher Rabbi, or a Muslim cleric an Imam. I am sure that if a non-Catholic cleric was interviewed in a similar situat tion he would be treated with much more respect. This is another sad example of media bias and prejudice against the Catholic faith.
God bless and help Bishop Tobin, may ALL bishops follow his example of calling all the so called "Catholic" politicians who support abortion and other in-moral causes to conversion and repentance.

I think Chris Matthews showed he is the same as Kennedy. They dont really care about their faith. However, the show is "Hardball", Matthews has a job to do and that's, to play "Hardball." At the end when he asked the Bishop to rethink his position was really bad, I guess Matthews has no intention(like Kennedy) so following the teachings of the Church.

Bill O'Rielly on Fox did little better. It is amazing how CINOS (Catholics in name only) do not know their Catholic catechism. I thought Bill was a well read person but I guess he bloviates more than her reads.

If Bishop Tobin thinks about the legal sanctions why doesn't he suggest to criminalize men for a change? Woman doesn't get pregnant by herself. It's not about defending anything, this is about destroying women's rights and put them on the place where they had been far in the past. This is a witch hunt. But more important, Bishop Tobin can defend his religious belief among his followers, but he cannot dictate America to become his church. How is it better than what Islamic radicals do? Is he against pluralistic democracy? I am very disappointed. Fire Bishop Tobin first.

The bishop looked arrogant and out of place in his costome. Catholics should teach morality and stay away from goverment. Matthews was right. The Bishop is trying to force a political position based on his view of morality and couldn't handle the fundamental question: "Will you outlaw abortion and what would be the penalty". Can't take the heat? Don't play with fire. Stay out of politics and go back to the teachings of your "teacher" who never demanded people to call him pompuos names.

Bishop Tobin did a great job of defending life and the Catholic Church! Matthews should be fired for being such a disgrace and embarrassment.
