Opinion: Chris Matthews should be fired for his Offensive Interview of Bishop Tobin Comments

Matthews showed how inept he is as an interviewer, how misinformed he is as a Catholic, how rude he is as a person and how threatened he is by the Moral truth. Continue Reading

The problem is that these guys are so full of themselves that they miss a large piece of the puzzle. It's because of people like Matthews that the abortion issue is as mixed up and complicated as it is. He asked Bishop Tobin what he would do with a person who has an abortion. Note that if a woman smothered her baby an hour after it was born she would be a murderer, but an hour before and it's legal. This is the dilemma that Matthews and his cohorts have created - and now that the confusion has gone on for decades, there is no easy way to resolve it overnight - basically he was asking the Bishop how he would clean up Matthews mess!

I wish Matthews would play the skit when he interviews president Obama.

It is interesting...these folks negative toward the Bishop and for Matthews. Obviously they are not Catholic, and questionably Christian. The hate in their words is a sign of the times we Catholics should be thankful that we are not a part of.

What is even more interesting is that strong Catholics will not (ever) waiver in their Faith. So bring martyrdom or sainthood - both would be great.

Today's reading is very clear. We are in a spiritual war. Even those who profess to a certain faith do not necessarily walk with Christ. But to those who do, HE will give us the wisdom to handle our situations. Thank you Deacon once again! Gospel, Lk 21:12-19
12 'But before all this happens, you will be seized and persecuted; you will be handed over to the synagogues and to imprisonment, and brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name
13 -and that will be your opportunity to bear witness.
14 Make up your minds not to prepare your defence,
15 because I myself shall give you an eloquence and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to resist or contradict.
16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death.
17 You will be hated universally on account of my name,
18 but not a hair of your head will be lost.
19 Your perseverance will win you your lives.

But Mr. Zudiak, isn't the point of an interview to listen to your guest? From the very get go Matthews begins attacking and ambushing the Bishop. Perhaps shoddy journalism such as Matthew's is why MSNBC's ratings are in the tank.

How many times do we hear, "You can't force your morals on us!" Give me a break. Everyone wants to force their views, their morals on everyone else. Let's see, if I said, "Murder is wrong, it's evil." Many would agree. But if I added, "Because its the 5th Commandment" Would everyone then say, "No, you're imposing your view on us!"? For those of you who believe in moral relativism, you have to not only accept any view, but accept that certain views will be "forced" upon others at a given time.

Agreed--he should be fired--he is very un-professional--this type of attack is not a part of what being an "reporter" is about--he needs to be fired--and go back to school--to learn to "report" news.

Chris Matthews is a fallen away Catholic. He needs our prayers.
After listening to the interview is should be apparent to everyone that satan is alive and well

Gregory, I agree that women should not be charged with murder for abortion. That will not solve the problem. And as for forcing Catholic opinions being forced on Americans, I can't speak for all Catholics, but I persoanlly oppose abortion because I think it's hurting a human being, not because the Church told me to.
