   Does the bill plus the amendment make the unborn better off than no bill? Unless I’m missing something, 3962 permits the government to take another trillion dollars from taxpayers and then, with the amendment, we beg them not to use any of the money for abortions. How about we don’t permit the government to take a trillion more dollars from us in the first place?

   Peggy, saying that the Democratic Party is against life in general is like saying that the Republican Party favors the oppression of minoritites. Both are supreme generalizations and both are basically false. Communists call the Republican Party the Fascist Party. I wonder just how far right the people who say that Obama's a Communist are...

   At the least, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz plans to do just that. The Stupak amendment gave wavering pro life Democrats cover for their votes while potentially making no difference in the end.

   Too bad that so many of the people writing on this site are still really Republicans conservatives who do not want any health coverage. Some have accuse Obama and the Democrats of lying, but it seems to me much of the fabrications have been made on the anti-abortion side too. God will judge all of us.

   Thank God that human abotion was defunded in the passage of the House bill.
   
   However, this 2000 page monster is still a perscription for disaster and I again thank God that it is DOA in the Senate for now.
   
   Keep praying and pressuring. Good may still triumph in the end.

   Write or contact your Reps to support the Stupak Amendement.
   
   If this is just the beginning before the great decision to include it or not to include it.

   At least the most pro-abortion segments of the legislation are out, thankfully. However, I thought that back in September that Obama said that the bill didn't cover abortion! So since they needed to pass this abortion compromise, that must mean that, in fact, he DID LIE. If he lied then, he's probably still lying today. There is no way I can support this healthcare bill, even without covering abortion. Who's to say that they won't slip it back in at some point in the future?? I still vote "no" and hope that this all fails.

    Anyone who believes that this amendment to the bill is the only good reason to oppose this monstrocity are not paying attention. This administration and the Democrat Party are opposed to life in general and to Catholic teaching in particular. They have been systematically for many years trying to remove religion from the public square. They obviously believe the Church, some bishops, the Pope and loyal Catholics are the enemy. There are better ways to provide health care for all. Government intervention into our lives is ALWAYS more costly than almost any alternative. Please refuse to be fooled by smooth talk and a big smile. Obama has a plan to enslave us. We are sheep for Jesus, not Obama. Keep your eyes and ears open and pray like crazy. Our very freedom is at stake.
