Following in the footsteps of our Founder, St. Peter Julian Eymard, our
mission is to respond to the hungers of the human family with the riches
of God's love manifested in the Eucharist.

The
Benedictine Sisters of Richardton were founded in 1910 to respond to the needs of the church in rural North Dakota. Our spirituality, community life, and ministries are nourished by daily Eucharist, Liturgy of the Hours and contemplative prayer. We value the common life based on the Rule of Benedict and serve the Church though education, healthcare, pastoral care, and retreat ministry, using the gifts of each Sister. The contemplative environment of the prairie surrounds our monastery with the peaceful beauty of God’s creation reflecting Gods sustaining power in our lives.

Do you feel the need for more? Perhaps not more, but rather a deeper relationship with Our Lord. Perhaps the Lord is calling you to religious life. Come and see!
We strive to serve Christ and His Church through our vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, through daily participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, communal and private prayer and through our work of caring for the sick and the poor. Our apostolate includes many areas of healthcare and education, in direct patient care, administration, support services and teaching. All these many parts are necessary to provide good and compassionate care to persons when they are most vulnerable. Visit our website at
