Who will stand in the Gap????
If I don't talk to you, I will implode or explode. Certain issues just rise above Religion and Politics. Abortion is one!
Give me your eyes, ears and heart for a few minutes. I am going to be writing you a personal note every week for the next twelve weeks. I've been doing some research that you must see and reaching some conclusions I must share.
Is America in Trouble? Recently a friend and advisor shared with me the passage from the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel, Chapter 22. To paraphrase, the times were evil, people's deeds were evil, the poor and helpless were exploited, innocent blood was shed, and God was diligently seeking a person to "Stand in the Gap" of the broken down wall (verse 30), as an advocate to protect the people and save the land. Read the passage and you will be amazed at how much it sounds like America today.
WE BELIEVE THAT GOD IS CALLING US, COLLECTIVELY, AND INDIVIDUALLY, TO STAND IN THE GAP TODAY ON BEHALF OF THE CHILD IN THE FIRST HOME OF THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE, HIS OR HER MOTHER'S WOMB. WHAT CAN YOU AND I DO? WHAT SHOULD YOU AND I DO? WHAT MUST BE DONE TO ACHIEVE AN IMMEDIATE AND LASTING RESULT? I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO, AND WE ARE GOING TO DO IT.
IT IS TIME TO TAKE THE GLOVES OFF. INNOCENT LIVES ARE BEING SACRIFICED ON THE ALTAR OF "CHOICE" AND CONVENIENCE.
I must ask for your Prayers and Your Action. We need many thousands of families to stand with YCVF for the launch of, what we believe, may be the most important foundation work to date. It is the mission of Your Catholic Voice to "Cultivate Your Faith" and then help you to "Activate Your Voice." Truly Informed Faith must act! There is room for everyone, and many different expressions of service, including one that will fit you perfectly. However, and this is key, we must act. We must pray, but we must act.
We are witnesses to an estimated 46 million abortions since Roe vs. Wade. 46 million times an expectant mother chose wrongly, ending the life of her child rather than choosing the option of birth and life. What is happening? How can this still be taking place?
We Must Stand in This Gap for the Baby in the Womb. How do we stand in that the gap?
We need to get a message to expectant mothers that we will help them, if they choose life. No more condemnation of an act already committed. No more scare tactics directed at frightened expectant mothers. We need options that deliver "love in action".
We need to be smarter. We need to be more organized. We need an aggressive strategy to counter the opposition message. We need to get beyond hoping for a better outcome, and start delivering a better outcome. We need to stop patting ourselves on the back and kick each other in the . well, you get the idea.
The opposition does not have a better message. They just out hustle us. They are organized, passionate, funded, and daily deliver their message through tens of thousands of volunteers, from over 850 centers across the United States to public forums, schools, and to expectant mothers. They just out hustle us, plain and simple, sad but true.
We need a business plan, a real agenda that is definable, measurable, and achievable, and actually implemented. If there was a business purpose to ending abortion, it would be funded, and we would have a million adoptions a year, instead of a million abortions. Abortion is big business. The choose life and provide for adoption options are being out hustled, out organized and out funded.
There are many quality organizations and people working in the "trenches" to protect life and provide options. They are very worthy efforts. It is not enough.

It is time for some bold initiatives to be undertaken by a representative share of our good society that says, enough is enough, I will stand in the gap.
